Hey guys. Just found this thread and thought i'd say hello
i'm 20 and have been commuting daily for 3 summers now on my 1991 NX 125. It's been a good first bike for me so far. I was disappointed at first only being able to go 60mph on the bike, but now i know its only 13hp(and i'm 6ft 200lbs), im impressed. I average about 72mpg, mostly driving in 5th with the throttle pinned Heres a pic!

Welcome Kazer
We are the same size, but I was 30 when your bike was new. ![]() Mine also gets wide open throttle quite often with some great back road exploring. |

Thanks Scoot! I saw a couple posts back a member asking about engines with similar pistons as the 125, Has anyone confirmed this? My dad is completely against me selling the bike(as am i) but i wouldn't mind tossing a hundred or two at this thing for rejetting the carb and maybe a .30 or .60 bore for a little more "umph"

I'm not 100% on the year, but i will take a picture of the stamped plate on the frame and post it. The bike is in storage currently though. Also, I don't know the history of the bike and whether the color scheme is factory or not but i certainly do like it!

It sure looks factory based on the way the decals are applied. Either that or a previous owner was very meticulous with designing and applying them to the bike. Your VIN should include a 'JD09' somewhere, which is the model designator. Perhaps that's a decal set from an overseas model?
Or, from a NX250? Hmmm.... ![]() EDIT: Yep, I was poking around in the NX250 thread and those are NX250 graphics. Of all of the NX250 graphics, I think those are the only ones that do not designate the bike's displacement as part of the fairing decal. The "250" can be found on the side covers (which appear to have been omitted from your NX).

. Unless the bike was damaged and somebody had all of the fairings from a 250. I'll confirm the year and vin next time i see the bike. Any chance that it's a 250?

EDIT: The seat and gator are lighter in color and match the decals. The mystery continues! Honda Scoot screwed with this post 03-04-2013 at 02:51 PM |

An NX250 is water cooled and has a 19" front wheel and 16" rear wheel. It's even more street-oriented than the NX125 and NX650 are. The bodywork is different and won't swap over. The headlight fairing is different, too. It doesn't have the two slots under the light. Your NX actually has more in common with the NX650 and TransAlp than the NX250. The only thing that comes to mind, about the decals, is either the p.o. liked the look, had them on-hand or were free/cheap (or a combination thereof).

Paid $600 US with 900 miles. Needed Carb and some TLC. She starts and runs great. I purchased it to teach my daughter how to ride, but I love riding it myself. |
