what u plan for the top half of the Canning sounds logical and commonsense (i figure you are not a government beauracrat) with the bonus of 12kg less weight -- 18 down to 6

Elsewhere in the outback on the Connie Sue, one ride we had, we had bike probs and were about 50-60km short of our destination at Warby which we had banked on with water supplies.

Myself, dinner was a cup-a-soup with half a cup of water left in the camelback (the high salt content just made my dehydration worse) - I'm a dickhead

One of the other riders Peter the next morning had a severe headache. At Warby there was like 4 camels drinking the well dry. I know i drank 6ltrs, a 2ltr can of tomato juice, 2ltr can of fruit juice and over 2ltrs of water before i felt quenched.

Probably right where the pin is on the pic. Only about 200 mm sand over the top.

I still have 4 x 20 litre plastic jerry cans of fuel buried along the Canning somewhere. Two, I know where they are, but the other two are beside trees that look like every other tree. I did mark them on my POS Magellan gps, but it is buggered and last time I was out there I had no idea which tree. May be a little stale by now though.

and while i am at it...oztrim in Ringwood Melbourne.. for those riders ie: DR650s with seats as comfortable as concrete, for around $200 on your own seat.......comfort 2 U.

In the US you can buy a brand new '13 DR650 for $5945 (US $) out the door in West Virginia (cycletrader.com).

In oz we say what a great bargin we are getting for $7490 a '13 demo ride away!!

Dirt Doctor pulled his radio cord out of his helmet just seconds before RB (lead rider) warning us of a bad corner coming up, he used the bash plate on the 640 as a bulldozer blade bloody Lucky to stay on
