Is an Airhead right for me? - Page 2

I lusted after an airhead after riding my friend's r80g/s. When a really nice tricked out that was built from the ground up came along, I scooped it up. Its was a super nice bike and I think I could've ridden it for many years and not had a complaint.

But, having a modern fuel injected single that potentially runs forever in the form of the WR250R really changed my whole riding philosophy and I decided to sell the r80g/s after 2 years of ownership.

If you are actually going to take one offroad (i.e. not just well groomed fire roads), I still think they are better bikes to own than the big heavy monsters that exist today in the form of the current r1200gs or Tenere, with a some frame/suspension modifications.

Those modern beasts are capable, but damn, they are they heavy as f.

Get one. You will not only NOT mind working on it every once in a while, it will be the labor of love. They are wonderful to work on. and Wonderful to ride and live with. After you have one, there will be others. No one can have just one Airhead. If one can have only one, the GS is the one to have.
