F800GS tires in Central America - Costa Rica?
Hi all. I am currently riding in Central America on my 2011 F8GS and looking for rear tire. Heidenau K60 Scout if at all possible. But at this point I am willing to consider all options. Could not find in Guatemala or Panama City. Heading to San Jose this week and sort of desparate. Any help is very much appreciated.
BTW, our trip report/blog is here at www.overlandnow.com & www.facebook/overlandnow also. Tad |

Well, there's the BMW Motorrad Dealer in San Jose. Great bunch and extremely helpful. You could contact the BMW CR Club for their advice. Contact http://www.costaricabmwtours.com/ They rent GS's and surely stock tires. If you can't get tires in CR, somethings wrong with you!

Finding Tires in Costa Rica
I can't help you, but I suggest that you Google "BMW motorcycle rental Costa Rica". You will get several links to motorcycle tour outfits that use the big bikes. I'm sure that they know where to get tires or can help you out (maybe at a premium price).
You probably won't get the exact tire that you want, but a more cost effective alternative. I'd guess that you will have little choice on what you can buy, but it will work out fine. Warning about getting around in San Jose - they really don't have regular street addresses, so take extra time to understand how to get where you want. Of course, by now you are probably experts in wading through incomprehensible and incorrect instructions. Good Luck Steve |
