Each countrys importer/distributor has their own programs from warrenty length of time/milege to issues like the Demo plan. In the US, dealers have a warrenty program to encourage customer demo rides that reduces the price to the dealer a small percentage, but can not be resold until the bike has reached 2,500 miles. All of these programs factor into the cost of the bike.

Remember, nothing is free.

My dealership keeps their bikes max 10 k km. I don't know at which poit they sell them. But they have a big fleet of replacement bikes for clients. So replacement bike or testbike is probably the same thing.

October 4th 2012 deposit at SJ BMW put me in third place.
Second deposit for a buddy (without his knowledge) on the same day put him in fourth!

No not buying it for him he has to step up to his addiction and lay down some of his own hard earned duckets. I once had a buddy buy two jet skis and then drop one off at my house and let me know I owed him 6 grand. I bitched and complained then paid him the money. I then jet skied every weekend for years! Loved the sport and we still joke about it. This isn't the same friend so maybe you could say I was "paying if forward"

He buys the bike and the down payment is a gift, if not "his" deposit goes towards my purchase. Then I will let him ride the bike and he can then get in line to get one or a KTM its up to him.
