For those of you that followed this report, I did get a backup bike. A WR250X, same as what Burt and Brad (R) had. Wanted something Baja friendly and this one is! We went to Baja in December Ride Report http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=848309 And maybe Brads premonition about doing Copper Canyon again will come true. Burt is talking about something coming up.....

Great Ride Report. I read the whole report this evening. How would you compare your Wolfman bags to the other guys Giant Loop bags?

The differences I can think of are that with the Wolfman I can just take one bag into the hotel if thats all I need. Probably has a slightly lower center of gravity, but you do have the additional weight of the racks. The giant loop also goes over your rear seat/rack area, I'm not sure if this interferes with attaching other items on your tail rack or limits using a topbox? Just some things to consider. I have Happy Trails hard boxes that I quit using after I got the wolfman bags. If I was to do a road trip the hard boxes would be fine, but not so much on the off road stuff. |

Wow, Epic trip. Thanks for posting.
Now I have to work late. Appreciate the input on soft bags. I'm leaning towards the Giant Loop.

Wow, I'm honored with your first post, thank you .Don't think you could go wrong with the Giant Loop, plenty of people swear by them. And they are more easily moved from bike to bike without having to get brackets for each one... |

Been lurking for a weeks, had to chime in on this. I think the G Loop is a good design, only 3 connection points so easy on/off. Besides, as a native, happy to support my fellow Oregonian brethren. Although your set up is nice if you just want to take one bag with. Looking forward to Mex ADV trips myself soon (other than surf trips) so this makes for great homework.
Ride On!
