Go back and read the part about my knowing and having ridden with two HP2 owners.
Or do you mean the video of me with Pamela Anderson? Is this going to be a "you post yours and I'll post mine" type deal? Humorous interludes aside, I am actually pulling for you to pull the rebuild off and have fun with the thing. I think every HP2 ends up being some kind of work in progress, nobody seems satisfied with a stock HP2 or they have issues like fuel pumps or shocks or things that need fixing. I've owned a fire rebuild bike before, there is something about them that is fun, almost like the bikes feel they got a second chance. The thing looks mean, hope it rides well and runs like it should have when it left Spandau. I also think it is great you went to a tech school for training on new bike technology. Buying a fire write off means not having to deal with BMW customer service for warranty claims. That alone is a major plus! Should I book my flight to Hollywood and call Pam?

Rear continental air damper is said bad and often changed by Ohlins ; Front light is bad and often changed by Touratech dual lights. Otherwise, the HP2E is all fun if fine tuned with Rapidbike etc (*) http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...&highlight=hp2

![]() GSMarc, I was tinkering around with the idea of making a carbon fiber fuel cell copy of the f800gs twin tail tanks, but formed to fit either side of the frame spars and hp2 seat. Way more fuel capacity and less weight up front unlike the HPN tank. What do you think?

From my point of view, Markus tank is the best by its positionning and by the fact it's already existing and tested. I've one on my MM All the story here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=331341

The only thing I don't like about the underseat tank is.............if your loaded down with full gear, all that stuff has to come off of the bike, then the seat, just to fill up the tank. Tank design for the f800gs fuel tank has an exterior fill cover........easy, quick. Plus the tanks would be higher than the bottom of the stock tank for ease of fuel transfer. Just a thought.

you are right, good idea.
I have no idea on how the F800GS tank can fit on the HP2E frame. I'm curious to hear about your experience ![]()
