Yeah, I tried the orga-website but there was no orga-mail under the accommodation sub menu. I will orga-book one soon. Any suggestions on which is closest to the bivouac?

Email sent, thanks

Quick question from a rally noob :

In the Tech reg's it says starting devices are compulsory.

I'm just wondering if this means you have to have an electric starter or if it means electric or kick is fine, but, you have to have one i.e. no relying on bump starts or rollers etc.

Want to check as I'm thining this may be the rally to aim for as a first - after a hell of a lot more training and a few some local races

Although it is a minor detail, starting devices means that you do not need to push the bike to start it.
So kick start or a e-start is a starting device.

Perfect, thanks for confirming and big Mike thats how I was reading it too, hence the question...glad it includes kick start only too as otherwise I'd be looking for another engine or bike

Is anyone planning to camp at the bivouac? It's such a drama trying to book a hotel with bank transfers or filling out forms (I'm not putting my credit card details on a form and sending it anywhere, forget that) that I wonder if it's practical or sensible to just bed down with the trucks and bikes.

Your details are confidential and will be used only for your hotel booking.
Transferring money to the race account is also safe and it will be done no matter what for your entry fee these days.
There is a very limited free camping space with showers and toilets, but it will will be full on a first come first serve basis.
The rooms close to bivouac are closing fast.

Is there any other way to book a hotel? I sent an email but haven't heard back from any one yet...

Yes, me too.
I will sleep into the wan.
The only concern I have is on space availability :(,
I will arrive on April 20th, just in time for techical inspection :(.
I know is a risk to arrive so late, but at the moment this is the only option I have.
I haven't issue the ticket,
just to see if I can anticipate my departure date.

X.

Which hotel brod? And how near the bivuoac is it? The travel agent for the rally is just not getting back to me at all, it's poor actually.

I booked here

Not a 5 star, but who cares? I mean 240 for 8 nights means 30 euros for a double room per night, breakfast included. Dirt cheap. One room left!

I think Hotel Niki should be about 200m (3 or 4 blocks) from the bivouac, I can attach a map if you want. I will be bringing my bivvy scooter for any hectic last minute dashes to & from the room (in Serres I forgot my body armour one morning, but that was a breeze as the bivvy was on the hotel grounds ... typical me, I need about 3 coffees in the morning)

According to the Orga site, the bivvy should be on the red dot I placed on the map

Cheers Brod. Doing it the orga way is just too much hassle, printing forms, filling them in, scanning and sending back, it's not the way forward. Anyway we're booked in the afroditi which is just the other side, also using booking.com

As my dad used to say: Find the middle man, then cut him out of the equation
