Thanks for the nice reply, wanted to show how Suzuki can be used, beside the frame(rust).
Always wanted a bike, where you can let the motor be closed.
Compared to the old DR650, where you should tighten the chain in the motor.
Should, you see how often i did this, took the old DR650R till 70000km.
Suzuki DR650SE, the best XT500 ever.
Greetings from South Germany Hans

Houston area DR650 riders?

Hey, I'm in Cypress (NW side). Been looking for like minded DS riders in our area to do some area rides. No pics to share (other computer crashed with all the pics). But here's a short video of our ride in AR Ozarks earlier in 2012. In 2011, did the TN portion of the TAT.

My bike is stock engine, side racks, skid plate, NSU fix, upper chain roller removed, knobbies, and a 12 volt phone outlet. Sorry for the poor sound quality - plastic camera housing was broken.

Here's a fresh one from the other day's ride. Also posted in the NW Pix thread.

Its the IRC GP110. It is the 5.10/17. I actually really like this tire and it's one that hardly ever gets mentioned in DS tire conversations. Maybe because Charlie and Ewan didn't run them...

Solely because, they didn't get a truck load of them for free, cheap bastiches...

I pulled up the IRC site and saved the dualsport GP-110 into my DR 650 tire favourites folder,
VERY interesting tread pattern and S rated up to 112mph...

Care to comment on their characteristics and wear attributes...

Yeah, what he said.

I checked the price at Motorcycle Superstore. They're a bit spendy... $200 for a pair using the 4.60 rear and 3.00 front ($225 if you go with the 5.10 rear). But if they perform well and wear well, they could be worth considering.

In the interest of staying on-topic, here's a pic...

2800' heading up Mt. Hebo Road in NW Oregon. Summit is at 3800, so will be a while before I can get to the top.
