I wouldn't go older than 2005 or 2006 though. Bearings, electrics, brakes, etc started being sourced from quality mfr'rs.

Wonderful history on this classic bike. Though not a 10, easily an 8 or more that can be enjoyed in your living room or a great suggestion ride it to Monterey California for the MotoGP race this year, its still a wonderful sport tourer that will eat up the miles in total maintenance free comfort. I purchased this from my friends pop who bought it from the original owner, he rode it home and sat in his garage, covered for 12 yrs. A carb clean and a battery is all that it needed, though I will recommend a new front tire as this one is showing some cracks in the side wall. New oil and filter, plugs and battery too. Ride is cross country as it is. 19,000 well care for miles. I have more photos if necessary. Relax this summer on bike that will be appreciated for another 30 years to come. I will be available to show the bike from February 24th on. I listed the bike prematurely and have been out of town. I will be back in town on the 20th, bike will be available on the 24th.

good condition 1992 kx500 2 stroke. cosmetically its great, no missing/broken plastics, good radiators.
new plug and clean air filter, fresh oil in case. full fmf exhaust setup fmf fatty pipe and muffle.
good renthal sprockets and chain. tires are good. forks dont leak. runs good asking 1500obo for it.
in the pic of the bike its missing the rad covers because i just flushed the fluid the day i took the pic,
i do have them and they are in great condition. not broken or cracked.

I was out of bikes during the era when these came out, never heard of a "10 speed" with I guess a 5 speed ordinary tranny x 2-speed final drive or whatever. Pretty interesting.
