Interlake Info

It has been a year or so since I hav ebeen to Interlake. Some things I recall.....

Large area, somewhat open.
Popular with UTV's and ATV's.
Some single track, but most trails are ATV width.
Plenty jeep roads to ride on.
Lots of mud,
Not sure if you have been or not, but it is not as difficult as Redbird. (Fewer steep hills and techincal areas)

I rode most of the property on a KLR (it was dry), would think you could go anywhere on a WR250.

Have fun...

Seems I remember the northeast corner had the good trails.
Mud should be all frozen solid.....

If I remember correct that was the best riding also. I forget how long that single track was that goes around the lake, but it wasn't a short trail. Here is a map of the place not sure if you can print it out or not but it might help.

Be careful. Lots of blind corners and ATV yahoos going full blast, full of their favorite liquid refreshment. Also big trucks out there. Lots of people in a small place if it is nice weather. That was my impression of the place.

Last time I was there the C.O. was writing tickets for no helmets, drinking and no regristration stickers. Actually last 2 times I went I saw that happen.

Last time I was there the CO asked us where are stickers were and we had plated KTM's and she was like opps my bad I think she felt dumb, but she left us alone after that.

Yeah I was worried about 4 wheelers and 4x4 running around everywhere. I'm hoping it's still a little early for some to be out and but I could be wrong. I'll make sure I have all documentation needed in case C.O. want to check me out. Thanks for the heads up!

I guess an itch to ride and extra padding on the mid-section goes a long way....I may not go tomorrow but I'll be there sooner than later!

Indiana's Conservation Officers do a great job, a few are friends. Just do what you are supposed to do, don't drink and ride or drive, save the beer for the campfire. Be legal, be sober, be safe, I KNOW for a fact, because several times I've RAN from them on my trusty KTM on the Knobstone trail near Borden In, practicing for a hare scramble at Rosewood or Stoney Lonesome back in the day, thinking NO WAY can they find me! Low and behold, here came 2 early 80's Green Crown Vics pinning me on the 2 track! Can't outrun radios! That was the early 80's though, no ticket, no nuthin, just a grin....and a "Don't do that again" Good times and still having them!

Is this the same area that used to Host the Black Coal Ntl Enduro?
If it is I must return some day!

I'm pretty sure the Black Coal enduro was a closed course loop just down the road about 5 miles.
