Crown seeks longer sentence for driver in fatal crash

The appeal date for Tracy Smith has been confirmed for February 27 at 10am at the Western Communities Courthouse, Colwood on Vancouver Island, please show up if you can to show your support for this appeal.

Had the address wrong I have just confirmed with the Appeal Court Registry in Victoria that the Tracy Dawn Smith, appeal will be held February 27 in Court room #401 850 Burdett St. Victoria at 10:00 AM

While i agree with the sentiment i also agree with trying to get the person to understand the problem they have.
My solution would be to first undergo the treatment for the alcoholism and when they are clean and sober then start the legal sentence for the crime. Place a length of time for treatment to occur and then ship em off for the sentence.
It is no use to send someone in denial to jail for a crime they can't understand why they committed but a clean and sober individual will fully appreciate the time behind bars. Letting a drunk back out on the street in five/ten/years still leaves us with the problem.
And if they can pay for the booze.....they can pay for the treatment.
If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.
