Are we still talking March 23-24? If so, count me in!
I'm lookin' forward to the new-found mine! Also lookin' forward to seeing the "Gang." Any chance of a ride to explore Corn Springs? DB Cooper

![]() I enjoyed that it was a really well done video . However, we did actually prevent the Ancient Lake Cahuilla from returning by building the Hoover dam on the Colorado River. So you could almost say that nature just did what it was meant to regardless of how man tried to control it when it created the Salton Sea. Before the Ancient Lake Cahuilla, the entire valley was connected to the Gulf of California. The Colorado River switched its course which in turn brought a great deal of sediment and filled in this area creating the salty lake. This is what allowed the native people to live there for so long because it was actually a very green and lush area. Not trying to be a smart ass, but its good info. to have if you go there often. P.s. couldn't find a better link other then wikipedia so.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Cahuilla

At this point, The food plan is carne asada bbq for Sat afternoon dinner, Believe what you want about Niland but I have found that the meat market there has some of the best, freshest asada that I have ever found. Thinking about taking a ride down south Sat morning, exploring around the Slab City area, maybe track up the Mammoth Wash sand dunes briefly and detour to hit the Niland meat market on the way back to Casa de Kern for the BBQ. Post up what you can bring to the Sat afternoon meal and take care of yourself the other meals. I'll provide the asada but we will still need the rest of the fixens, paperware, beverages, dessert and whatnot. See you guys soon, Mike 714 713 1841 |

Hmmmmm
Howdy gang,
I'm back from my South America trip and may be able to make it. The 950 is in need of some maintenance after 10,000+ miles down there but I just ordered a new jet kit for my 400XC so I may have it ready for a ride. Are there going to be any dirt bike only rides?

Did a fly by on casa de Kern today with a small group of expo type rigs. It was nice and toasty.
I will bring a desert pie of some type. I will late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
