I assume your talking about Leon Camier. Not Leon Haslem If so, I think the answer to the teams big step was taking the motor development away from Yoshimura, and bringing it back inhouse at Crescent. Jack Valantine pretty much said the Yosh motors were underpowered last year in an interview in Motorcylce Racer magazine a couple months ago. 'Course, he's no longer with the team so he can say those kinds of things

Yep, and PI is really a spectacular track, a great place to start the season!

BTW, Stoner took MotoGP pole on a 1000cc machine last October with a 1.29.623... not really comparable I know, but I´d say Checa still got surprisingly close on the Panigale with a 1.30.234 (.. in fact that would´ve put him on the front row in MotoGP - and there was a lot of talk, that the bike is no good)
