Appalachian Spring Rally April 26-28 2013
Just SE of Dayton Ohio, near Caesar's Creek
Contact Info for campground is below. If you'd are coming, please contact the campground directly and pay for your first nite whether tent or cabin. Your reservation is refundable until April 12 according to Walter, so there is little risk and this will ensure that we have adequate space. Also - as soon as we have 30 registered guests, we will be assured that we have the lodge and can then announce possible catered food. Frontier Campground Walter Wingate 937-212-5096 wingatew@frontiercamping.com Tell him you are with the Motorcycle group please! Dogs ARE allowed as long as they are in the control of the owner AND the owner cleans up after them; the campground manager assures us that he cannot have dogs running free so please play well with others! Walter will quote you the rates on the cabins and tent sites that we agreed upon. Spring Shots taken within one week of rally date but 3 years ago (2009): ![]() Awesome restroom facilities!

Everyone can get all the current detail on the link posted at the beginning of this thread; all updates are being posted there.
This is only 10 minutes from the location of the annual devils staircase hill climb. No formal dual sport rides planned yet but Adams county Oh is not far and there are tons of gravel roads there - I used to go riding there and just pick a side road to pursue. Open to volunteers to lead a dual sport ride. Still two cabins left and a 5 tent sites... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

A couple of local attractions
As a geologist, I can tell you that Caesars Creek is one of the best fossil hunting sites in the country...okay, maybe not the best...but the rocks are some of the most fossil rich on earth. Albeit it all marine fossils. You can pick them up out of the creek beds. https://ohiodnr.gov/LinkClick.aspx?f...3D&tabid=18690 and http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/cae...0/Default.aspx The creek was named after an African American in colonial times and not a Roman. I have never figured out if he was an escaped slave or much else about him. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~oh...n/bogan330.htm
There is a HUGE year round flea market just off I-71 that can be cheap amusement when youre not riding. I am not sure youre gonna find bike parts or equipment there, but old tools, sporting goods and junk are a sure find - they charge for parking. http://www.caesarcreek.com/ There is a spectacular gorge 24 miles Northeast of the site in the village of Clifton. Clifton Gorge is worth the ride. Its narrow, deep and geologically pretty damn interesting. Its a great place for a short hike - with little effort you can see some pretty spectacular views...at least by Ohio stanards. If your a rock climber, there is a climbing area...although its pretty crappy...its better than nothing. On the edge of the gorge is an old mill - a GREAT place for lunch or breakfast. They specialize in things made from grain they grind on site. The pancakes are legendary - they are huge. However, they do gouge on price... But the view is incredible from your table and its a great place to take the wife or mistress..or both! http://www.cliftonmill.com/ If you dont feel like over-paying for pancakes, you can pick up bags of pancake mix (corn, wheat, buckwheat etc) at the counter - and its worth walking into the place just to snoop around. You can take a tour of the mill but they charge for it. Its not open now - but if youre looking for a hell of a good time during August-October... come back for the Ohio Renaissance Festival. If you have watched "Full Metal Jousting"...Shane Adams has bouts here. Its not fake (My daughter works for Shane). They go at it full force on draft horse and knock the living ***** out of each other. It is a very biker friendly place and its bawdy. I mean Ta-Ta City. The Clevage Captial of the Midwest....Buckeye Boobland. A boozonga rich environment. It is a riot! Did I mention it was bawdy? Right...anyway... of course they fleese you...$20 to get in plus spectacularly over priced food and drink - but after a few pints of mead, who cares? ...loads of great vendors..if you dont make it yourself, you cant sell it there. So the stuff is interesting. You can throw axes, spears, do archery, toss dwarves (not an official sport), get drunk, listen to some great music, make passes as women you dont know, get your fortune told by attractive women of all ages, go wenching, make passes at women you dont know. Did I mention Ta-Tas? (for those who are sensitive and PC - I dont want hear it - this is humor). http://www.renfestival.com/ Expensive? Oh yea...but worth it. Its a good weekend of theraputic debouachery If youre attending with your wife...or someone else's wife and want a romantic lunch or dinner, consider the "Golden Lamb" http://www.goldenlamb.com/. Its a Restaurant and Inn thats been in continuous operation since 1803. Great for a date, but a bit foo-foo and expensive for anything else. Its 17 miles from the campground. The Blackhorse Tavern is worth visiting if you dont have something better planned - its part of the Inn http://www.goldenlamb.com/

We've added music for Friday nite!
Izzy and Chris to play the Applachian Spring Rally!
This live show will be held at the Rally site on Friday April 26 from 7:30 till 10:30. Tickets will be sold on site until they are gone. Directions to the site here: Frontier Campground Walter Wingate 937-212-5096 wingatew@frontiercamping.com If you have not heard these guys, you are in for a TREAT. We originally saw Izzy and Chris at the Foothills Festival a few years ago, and there was almost a riot when they stopped playing. Izzy's vocals are stunning. Our plan is to have the music INDOORS at the lodge, with 80 tickets available for $7.50 each. After the show, Izzy and Chris want to hang out with us, so if you come to enjoy their unique brand of music this will add a nice conversation flair to the Friday nite campfires. I shouldn't need to say more after you take a look at Izzy performing in studio: https://www.youtube.com/ Check out their Myspace site: http://www.myspace.com/ We're bringing them to YOU, so hope y'all enjoy

Dual Sport Rides at the ASR
Volunteers are welcome to lead the Dual Sport ride; we have a local individual who is a retired trials rider and he MAY lead a ride.
This is also the weekend for the East Coast Timing Association Speed Trials in nearby Wilmington OH if you like that sort of thing.

With my warm bed being 15 miles from the campground, I might just camp one night.

Updated information .....
Hello all - I'm updating the information on the following forum:
http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=59640.0 and we will start to list ride maps. I've had several inquiries on the dual sport ride, but we are still looking for a leader. My suggestion was to head down into Adams county and pick a by-way - there are tons of gravel roads and you can get pretty lost if that's what you want (and I'm sure many of you will want to). If you live in that neck of the woods, and want to lead - I suggest you PM me and we could pick a restaurant for Saturday morning of your choosing. We'd then have the rally-goers just meet at that restaurant. Thanks - e-mail is best, rjamesohio@yahoo.com

I'll be coming up just not sure on what? The KTM 640adv. or the Norge.
