Even with that 57 point cleaning exercise you documented (very nice, by the way. But I couldn't make myself do it) you yourself said you gave up on the spokes.

I SAID they were strong. :)

But they are the ugliest part of my rarely clean Tenere.

The other day I mounted a new K60 front myself. Since I had the actual wheel in my hand, I cleaned her up really good. (Woulda only amounted to about 2 of your detailing points though) anyways, it looked almost brand new. Even got the rotors shiny. But the spokes were hopeless. They look like crap. Chinese I tell ya! :)

Edited: just realized you agreed with me. Ooops.

Thanks a lot, the connector was exactly where you told.

Here are some pictures of the license plate mount on the bike.

The next thing needs some work is the heat shield on the exhaust which does not really fit with the akra can.

Do you own two reliable shaft drives?

I knew that this picture would raise questions

But that is the vfr 1200 of my dad, i don't have a own garage where i can work on the bike so i do that stuff in his garage. That way i also save a lot of money on tools, the only quality tool i own is a T50 security torx bit

While checking out Desert_Daves thread I stumbled across this...

Looks like YAMAHA are still using the same spoke supplier.....

I always thought that rusty spokes was part of a bikes "Patina" kinda like that first ding or scratch... just part of the bikes "story"...

This is a heavily customized bike, so I doubt those are Yamaha spokes.

They look like they could be YAMAHA spokes

But on the other hand Mark. It didn't scream rat bike to me so why put custom rat bike spokes on it.

I just assumed they were the original items that haven't been replaced under warranty yet.

Will just have to wait for Desert Dave to chime in.

OGR...i will hopefully be riding by that point so I can show you around for a bit.
Woody's Wheel Works sells a kit for this. Someone actually had all their spokes powder coated too, purple, if I remember correctly.
