Hi everyone

Finally got moved into Calgary. Not entirely settled yet but 90% there. Nice to be back in the routine of work again, even though it's just training. Been out on the bike a few times already. In that, I think I'm not going to miss Winnipeg so much.

Got internet access this morning so I'll be keeping up with the thread more here. Chat with you all soon.

Glad you're settling in quickly - great to hear you've got the "I can ride" bonus going on now, too!

Yes I know. It is a shame. It was a go to place for all sorts of gear

You can get military surplus stuff in Duluth near Aerostich, as well as at FleetFarm in Mnpls. I like the jackets, and also have a big green gear bag. It's waterproof & I keep my rain gear and other stuff like gloves bungee- netted on the seat for quick access.

The A and N Boutique as we referred to it, was a great place for all sorts of gear.

I am looking for old Honda and Yamaha Gear such a hats, jackets, gloves, riding suits and even helmets.

Hey Garth, I just threw out my old bomber jacket that I had since grade 9. The dam thing shrunk.... Lol

No cookies, but beer, now that's a different story. I can't help myself, the beer is almost free here... 30 for the price 12 at home!!

Yes I have a couple jackets that did that to me also.

Sorry but never wore much branded stuff back then unless you count the STP and Woodpecker smoking a cigar stickers we used to put on our helmets.

Sorry no photo available...
I bolted on the Action Packer for storage one summer when I needed something in a hurry for our Alaska Trip. I did not plan on using it beyond that trip, but it worked so well that I used it for 3 or 4 years after that! It now resides on the front of my utility trailer as a place to hold straps and various other stuff. Yes it was kind of ugly, but it seemed to "fit" the KLR look and feel. I think it was under $20! My Tenere top box which does the same thing was around $500...yeah!

Here is my Action Packer in Action with another KLR owner who felt the need to bring a big old cannon along on a bike trip to the WhiteShell...it was awesome! Where is SpeedRacer these days?

I use one in the sidecar to carry camping cooking related gear. I just take that to the picnic table - perfect. Bought a bigger one too. Darned smart design.

so am I the only one who looks at the roads while driving aroud and thinks that like 90% are good enough to ride on? all I need to do is get my bike to the end of my bay which is still a solid sheet of ice ><
