Good place for a valve job

Hey guys,

I need to find a good place to rework a head. I called Ridge Reamers, but he's booked through MAY! Good for him, not so good for me.

Any ideas close-ish to Golden?

Thanks!

Wes

Had this guy do the valve seats and some decking on my 450 last year. No complaints. Right over in Wheatridge.

LSE did the valve work in my Yamaha and it seemed like quality work (still runs), but I would never go back to him.

He told me it was no problem to have it done in a week, well it took 3 weeks. What pissed me off was once he had the parts and was passed the week deadline he never called, would not return any phone calls, and just did not seem to care at all when I did get him on the phone. I went to the shop several times in person and it was closed most of the time. After 2 weeks of fighting with the guy to just get my parts back I went down there and he still had not done any work, but finished the valve job as I waited in the lobby for an hour as his wife made snide comments about how busy they have been.

I have heard several other similar stories. I would go anywhere else other than LSE........

Not as close, but I get all of my head work done at ACME Machine in Fort Collins. Joz drives up here for his head & cylinder work. A couple of old guys with 50 years of motorcycle experience run the place.

If you ar talking a 4 stroke KTM head, look up Dave Hopkins over on KTMtalk.com. He is out of WA, but does great work for a good price. His turn around is usually good as well.

Got mine back in 3 days. He must have liked me.

Actually though, now that you mention it, I think Silverboy had a less extreme, but similar experience the last time he used him. Long wait, no communication.

Ron over at HO has done a lot of work for many folks around here. He is right out by Wolfman luggage east of Longmont. He does great work.
