Well my ammo friend called a few minutes ago. He said a gun show guy offered him 50 cents more per box than he quoted me.
I told him not to hold any for me since no one responded. So it is all gone later today.

Yesterday's project = before and after

Shawnee State Forest, Riding Inquiry

Greetings SW Ohio mates. I have been riding for a few years but only the streets. I have an older F650, and I am interested in learning how to ride dual sport / gravel roads. Early Spring I hope to ride down to Shawnee State Forest, I have never been there before but it isn't too far from Dayton where I live. To date I have not met any ADV riders and my usual riding parter (my Dad) has moved away to NC so I'm solo. Would anyone be up to meeting me down there for some riding and show me the ropes on the Forest Service Roads? I would even be up for camping overnight to maximize riding time. I originally posted my inquiry in the Ohio page and got this response.

Cheers,

Chris

There are a bunch of gravel roads in that area. I rode through there last summer using "George's route". Ask in the Cincinnatti Dual Sporters thread. Some of those guys are familiar with the area. -Mike

^^^Sounds like fun although I'm not familiar with these trails. Would be interested in hearing more as well.

For those that ride in the Cinci area - since the good riding spots are typically some distance away, do people usually haul your bikes to the area and then ride or ride there on the bikes? Running a smaller, more dirt oriented bike (i.e. DRZ400) 20-50 miles and then riding the trails doesn't seem to be the best way so I'm curious. My WR isn't street legal so I have no option but have been considering supplementing with a dualie.

Hey guys, stick around and watch this site, rides will be coming up as the weather breaks.

We hit the Shawnee area several times last year. Do recommend getting street legal as most of the routes are on roads of some kind, even if they're dirt/gravel.

If you're in the market there are a few really choice street legal dirties, available locally, in the market place on this site.
