i have been touring europe and riding the alps and wht i did not exepect of the ZX was that it was a more comfy tourer then the ST. The power of the ZX is very smoth and civilized with with normal throtlle use. You cold also look at a CBR1100XX witch also gives great comfort for touring. Going from RS to VFR you will have the same HP but lose som tourq. But the VFR is a good bike, but il bet youl miss that triple engin, i do somtimes.

I've owned two sport touring bikes, at least they were according to their makers; a 2004 Ducati ST3 and my current 2005 BMW R1200ST. I did a comparison thread on here. Both bikes were around 500 pounds wet, which is 200+ pounds lighter then the Honda ST's. I've always thought of sport tourers as more upright sporty bikes with hard luggage. To each their own.
As far as the "can't define it but know it when you see it", that was a quote from the Supreme Court regarding pornography.

i ride me a mini ST bike (Yami FZ-6 with bags'n'shit) and my old man's got an R1150r and honestly 90% of my rides are over 50 miles at a time. Ive done a few 500+ days and many over 200, and the bike is fully capable. Then i unclip the begs, and slay the twisties. Out distance the cruisers, and dust the sqwids on the "slow, uncomfortable" 600.
i had a guy on a gixxer 750 trying to get away from me, and when i caught up to him at a gas station, he thought i was his buddy on an R1 he was kinda upset about it actually. if i wasnt just in jeans i woulda got that knee down and really spooked'em.i dont really think that STs are super rare because most of the guys I ride with have them. -2 Connie 14s -K1200RS -FJ13 -Bandito 1250 -2 ST1100s and just as many guys ride those duckfaced BoxMW GS bikes

relief tube
Anyone use anything like this? Maybe one that doesn't have the bag.
![]() I sure would like to eliminate the restroom during gas stops - walk over to the grassy area and stand there for a moment. Could make for very brief fuel stop. http://www.biorelief.com/products/po...m-pal-kit.html

Something like this was discussed here before, where the guy had the tube running down inside the pant leg and the tube clipped to the rear peg. This would allow him to just "go" when he needed to emm "go"... I usually take the opportunity at gas stops to stretch and walk a moment, take a leak and have a snack and water. I've never felt rushed enough to require the need to have warm body fluids running down my leg.

I feel awkward that I just watched that guy pee.
I like peeing in the side of highways and back roads you never know what your going to find. One day I found a watch. Then I found a 1962 quarter. And that is enough for me not to want to urinate in my pants.
