IMHO: Points. 1st 2nd 3rd, all within a couple points.
If you're in 2nd or 3rd... you don't want to risk a fall,
not that many points to gain by going all out on a pass.

Maybe if the points spread on the top was increased so the top
3 places would be inclined to race for first or second... dunno tho.

I think VP was waiting for JS to lawn dart.
He didn't.
Millsaps also wanted VP and JS to dart.
They didn't.

Result was a parade.

Mid season show was pretty lame. Watching crashcar instead.

I vowed never to utter another bad word about Chad Reed after the crash at Millville. In my book that might be the single most incredible single event ever in the history of MX in the US.

I see he got 8th I was thinking 10th. Good for him this has to be a real grind for him he was right there prior to last years crash.

Villipoto wasn't going to balls out pass Stewart and risk a crash, he even eluded to this in the post race interview. He was ahead of Davi and therefore making up points.
Of course there are more points for 1st but if he went down or wadded it up then he is moving backwards. I guess RV didn't feel comfortable riding faster than James' pace.

To me its seems all the riders are riding more conservatively this year, but after last years crash fest, its too be expected.

Maybe they all saw the same Bob Hannah interview I did. Bob said you're better off in the long run not riding over your head, or words pretty much to that effect.
