Nick....I see that a couple of your northerly trips were both late summer. On you Trans Lab Hwy trip in Aug sometime you refer to only having 5 minutes before the blackflies find you.
I was considering a June trip .....probably a bad idea? as far as blackflies and such? |

It really depends on the spring and the temps, year by year. Last year was a fantastic time because there were very few black flies. A couple years before they were atrocious. The closer you are to the end of May/first couple weeks of June seem to be the worst, but I'm sure one of these other fellows will chime in here soon. I am far south towards Windsor.
I did ride the trans-lab last year the last week of July/first week of August and there were no black flies. Lots of mosquitos and no-see-ums. For what it's worth, I had great weather, too. Was rained on a couple of times but only one serious downpour. PS Churchill Falls is crappy.
