That's awesome. I thought they'd omit the roll offs for that price. Glad I bought two now. I guess the v2's are discontinued.

I would love to try patchaug this weekend. I seen not as much snow on that side of the state.hope tonight's storm doesn't drop any and maybe melts some.

She's going back together after a full tear down and facelift. Can't wait to see how this ol' girl handles Pachaug (92 KTM 250 exc).

That generator looks more like a KTM. Why did you go with Honda colors, was that the original frame color? I'm sure it's going to be a blast to ride though.

Factory colors. Here's a stock pic. It going to be an awesome woods bike. The generator is a Ridgid with a Subaru engine. I need to slap some KTM stickers on it.

After Rob's e-start issues I opted for a a manual-only start. I'm not cooridnated enough push the start button and pull at the same time.

I looked at this 99 250 exc.clean and felt like great compression. Found few things that scared me.sprocket had silicone on snap ring. Motor made bang noises you could feel.forks leaking. Any thoughts of what bang clunk noise could be.bogged some too.

some bang noises are just that, fuel going bang! was it on idle and corresponded to engine firing or was it just random "bag of rocks" noise?

Forks are easy

Silicone is easy lazy mans safety wire, they do it on all Penguin Race school bikes, easier than drilling bolts

\The 99 forks were some of the best front suspenders ever on those bikes. Look behind the sprocket to be sure there isn't silicone there masking a leak. I had a 2000 (same gearbox) check to see that the countershaft bearing is solid. Mine wore out, after many miles of use, and you could move it with your finger about 1/16-1/8 inch and the trans was very noisy when that happened.

Forks are not inverted.I was wondering what year they changed.
Guy or guy he bought bike lied told that previous owner was afraid of bike and didn't ride much.it was obviously raced.

99 is the last year before the USD forks. Early in the 2000's some guys were putting the conventionals on their bikes because they were better.

alcontrast at least I'm trying Joined: May 2008 Location: central CT, USA Oddometer: 1,342	generators (lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc) should have a kick start! __________________ When in doubt, gas it. It will either fix the problem, or at the very least end the suspense. 07 650GS / 05 DRZ400S / 72 CB350 (that hasn't run since shortly after I bought it)
