Charging my Zumo 660 w/USB adapter
This is a noob question, but...Can I charge my Zumo 660 battery with the Garmin USB cable plugged into an Apple USB adapter - and right into the AC power? So, instead of charging in the computer through the USB connector or on the bike mounted base plate, can I charge it plugged in the wall using my iPhone USB/AC adapter?

Yes, you can plug it in to a usb charger. I just did it. Remove the rear cover, plug in USB. It thinks it is plugged into a computer at first, but then goes into GPS mode. Garmin even sold an AC/DC to USB adapter to charge the Zumo 550 in your house. It works on the 660, as does the charger from my iPad. I don't know how long it takes to fully charge because my 660 always seems to be charged from the bike/car cradles.

hendrik...thanks so much. I'll give it a try. I hate having to occupy a rare USB port on my Mac if I don't have to.
