Self control is not one of my strong points.

It's a lot easier for me too ride this bike at a relaxed pace than some of my others.
Isnt that a Ninja 650 :-)

How so? Ninja is about 50 lbs lighter, 20 more hp, 11k rpm limit, and 47 mpg.

My sentiments exactly. I'm debating trading in my 2012 (non ABS) for the 2013 red DCT!

I saw this review, which has brought me back to Advrider after almost a year. I'm interested in the capabilities of this bike, and I love how Wes will write articles like this one when other motojournalists seem to ignore the most basic questions we have about certain bikes. Every article I've read about the Honda parrots the next article with same drivel, but at least Wes reviews a bike with a different lens.

The article was a unique perspective on the many different ways we use our motorcycles. I enjoyed the view and other than the big sand have chased up and down the hills with my NC. Granted not perfect, but I didn't fall and found it very comfortable.

I agree with your review of most reviews. I think in due time, as people farkle these bikes as DS machines, it will spark some interest in other moto-journalists to probe the DS issue more deeply.

I bought an NC two weeks ago and have been really impressed so far. I truly believe this bike will appeal to many as both a street bike and a DS that will compete well with a Wee if farkled properly.

I've done about 50 miles of dirt road with street tires and I liked it more than my 08 KLR with knobbies. The low rpm tourque works well while chugging along at a slower pace. Also, the lower C of G helps handling.

What I learned from the article was that not only is Honda not dropping the NC series after one year, they're using the engine and chassis for even more models of bikes, expanding the lineup.

The Honda NC700X Cycle World Adventure Challenge series of videos were fun to watch. Now, if I could only find the missing Episode 3.

HFL has repeatedly accused the 360 lb CBR250R as being 'lightweight'. They've called the hefty CRF250L 'lightweight' also and had this to say, " We’ll make this simple: the Honda CRF250L is 100 percent as capable as the Yamaha WR250R..."

Yes. They do see things through a different lens.

Thanks, JC. I'm a bit OCD, I guess, and it just didn't feel right to have watched episodes 1, 2, and 4, but not 3. Man, it looks like you guys had a lot of fun that week.

We did. It was a great time. I got to meet some terrific people.

I really like the NC700X. If I was shopping for a new bike in this price range I would buy one. After seeing the Hell for Leather dirt ride, I like the bike even more.
