For those keen to give it a go look at the igntion tables in graphic mode and right click on 8% and you will see the peak betwen 2500-4500rpm
I smoothed it between 6%-15% (about). Like I said, look at this example:

Compare the ign maps between the stock 09-10 Adv and PowerTrippsWings maps. You can't directly copy it over to the 07-08 ADV, but use it as an example.

OK so it is possible to get the wick so its not so sensitive (jerky) without hurting performance ?
I am very happy with with my '10 so far only 1500 miles but the dam throttle is just to touchy !

I see the spike your are talking about in both the Ix and Ix LOF maps, are you adjusting both or just Ix?

(Ix = I1 or I2)

You can add some fuel to cool it some if you want. Add to F maps but it can possibly throw off your smooth throttle depending on the tune. Just keep your current map so you can put it back in. The fourth bar on the temp scale is 158-212F. Fan kicks on at 216F. Mine seems to kick on about 30 seconds before the fifth bar shows up. Operating temps are all close. The newer 990's have more bars on the gauge than our older ones.

L maps work off of manifold pressure(more active with quick throttle movement and low TPS). F maps are TPS(active with steady state throttle). The switchover point is NOT set in stone with the F-L map. You can take the FL point down to 1800rpm yet the L map will still be active when you hit it hard like an accel pump. If you lean the L maps your acceleration inreachment will suffer. When tuning on a dyno you hold a load on an engine at steady throttle. So, say your loading the engine at 20%TPS and 3,500RPM. You add fuel until you reach peak hp. At that point that is all the fuel the engine needs. Now lets say you cruising down the road at 20%TPS and 3,500rpm. You know your bike is at max hp with the map you just did. You nail the throttle to do a wheelie past all the BMW's sitting at the Starbucks. The engines load suddenly changes as the throttles open. Can't think of the term but what happens is the new fuel charge tends to stick on the walls of the intake manifold and in the cylinder for a split millisecond. As this happens you can see where the A/F ratio will go lean. This is why the L maps take over and add more fuel to account for the loses until things catch up.

Has anyone else tried the and successfully performed the "copy/paste" from compared to current map? Perhaps I am missing something, but the "paste" function is greyed out when I "F6" flip between the two tables, in effect making it not work?

When testing the ignition coils, do you hear clearly both clicking or is it a silent test?

I fires the coils, just like when running. Pull the plugs, connect and lay on the heads. You should see sparks.
