Congrats on passing the MOT...really nice build.
Give us some feedback on how the Hedingham handles ...one of the prettiest of "recent " sidecars to my eye. |

My Little lad likes us to name stuff, so far weve thought 'Orca', as its the same colour as an................Orca.
Any Suggestions before we christen it?

Very Good.
![]() Just spoke with Hagon shocks and ordered a pair of these shiny, easy clean, stainless shocks, amazed at how much info they wanted, my weight, my wifes, my sons, how much luggage well carry, trailer nose weight, sidecar weight. Amazingly, the outfit will be dragging over 650 kgs loaded. Never thought of totting that up. Anyway, the extra calcs involved means an extra charge, but, only £20?? I think thats fine. £260 all in, will update when Ive tried it out. This also means I can put the 340mm Bitubos in my harley dyna, the short shocks are fucking useless, which may save the road surface on my local twisties a little. ![]()

I have just had the bike jacked up in the workshop and fitted the stainless Hagons.
![]() They are a fair bit stiffer, on the softest setting they are similar to the bitubos on the hardest setting. The damping is far better, its not bouncing up against the stops like the old ones were. May give her a run out tomorrow and see how she goes. Planning to move the front swingarm back, the steering is a bit too light, almost leaves you overcompensating for little things and getting out of shape.

Just knocked up a wee bracket in stainless....................................
![]() To house the marine power socket for phone and gps charging. Putting one in the chair too. ![]() ![]() The plan was to update this thread with every wee jobbie, not 'attention seeking' but do I leave it and let it die or continue with the build thread. Excuse my ignorance but never taken a build as far as the wee fiddly finishing bits so do I stop...................... or continue as I do stuff?

Keep updating is my vote. It's cool to see how people add their personal touches for either practical or aesthetic reasons. .

I'm a very experienced custom fabricator in many different areas, cars, trucks, cycles, industry, industrial machines, welder, industrial electrician, etc. etc. My resume is like 4 pages in brief form. Not saying that for ego trips, just stating facts of how life turned out. Regardless of having a huge amount of experience I just can't count the times I've looked at someone else's designs, solutions etc. and said "WOW! Why didn't I think of that???" This includes the simplest little things and so many times the other person's creations are so much easier, simpler, more practical, just plain better than mine! Really humbling at times, like most times.... I hope and pray that I NEVER stop learning from other's experiences and inventions! Matter of fact, that's why I'm here at this forum, to observe and learn. Some very good teachers here, thanks! |
