Does anybody know how to fly or boat a bike from Can or u.s. to Iceland or Greenland
I'm just curious if anybody out their has done it- there are ferry's from Greenland to Iceland and from Iceland to Holland. I just thought that might be a fun rought into Europe.
All thoughts welome!

Being the closest point to Greenland there are lots of fishing boats that go near there from this area. Whether you could hire some space for the trip as the only thing they have aboard would be nets? I would also think they would only stop there for a medical emergency so steaming close might be as good as that gets.
Once a year a charter flight comes here from Iceland. Prices for goods are very high there and variety is limited so the flight is arrange for a christmas shopping spree. Normally they would fly to Europe and then trans atlantic.

I just found out there is a shipping company from Iceland that goes to Boston MA, Portland ME, Halifax NS and Argentia,NL and back to Reykjavic. Eimskip is the oldest shipping company in Iceland and i know they do containers as i have seen them here on the dock.

There is a ferry from Iceland to Hirtshals Denmark, its a three day journey, with a stop at the Faroe Islands. This will be one of my first trips as soon as I can aford an adventure bike.
I have never ridden a motorcycle in Iceland, but the nature there is amazing and totaly different to anything else I've ever seen else in the world. Reykjavik is also a fun city ![]() From Hirtshals to Amsterdam is a 8 - 10 hour ride.

Here is one of the ferrys that goes from Iceland to the Faroe Island and to Denmark. http://www.smyrilline.com/
Im considering a Triumph Tiger 800xc or a Bmw f800gs, but money is a bit tight at the moment, so I'll probably get one to next season and do Iceland by bike then :)

I got a quote from Eimskip last fall for shipping a bike from Halifax to Iceland for around $1200(plus or minus). In the same thread on here a guy flew his bike from New York for $1400.

My quote was 1 way. (so about 500 euro return)
Considering the seasonality of the countries, exact travel dates probably make a big difference in price.

I haven't read the whole thread so I may step on some toes. There are flights from Halifax to Iceland, try that!
