You know I notice what vehicle is in the background!!!!! Your bronco or a neighbors? I love seeing pics in their natural environment. ...meaning in the era they were being sold.

A Bridgestone 90 mountain in the late 60's. That thing would climb a wall.

I got it in February '82 and left on Apr 25 for California. It was so cold riding through the Rockies!

I put 13000 km on it and kept it for another 2 years. You could heat a 14 oz can of beans between the carbs at 65 MPH for about 75 minutes.

Great way to start...it was the first and last new bike I ever owned.

First bike I owned was the one in my profile pic- a '76 (I think) clapped-out, bored-out XR75. That pic was probably from 1980 (6th grade- I remember I did a book report on the Clymer manual).
The seed was planted long before that, because my neighbors already had bikes... starting with a PW50, then up to a GT80 and similar things. It probably took me almost 2 years to convince my parents to LET me buy a bike with everything I had saved. The XR cost $200, if I remember correctly. I used to waste hours staring at the glossy flyers you could get from a dealer ("Pete's Cycle in Bel Air MD), and at the ads in the MX mags. I think my parents finally caved when one of their friends let me ride his "enduro" (DT250, or something real close) on the road with him on the back when we were visiting them in Aztec NM. Granted, the roads were mostly dirt, but when I think back, that guy was pretty crazy letting an 11 year old pilot his plated bike, haha.

Got one of these for Christmas 1969!!

We had horses and he got it past my mom with the rationale I could ride over and feed 'em twice a day. Lost ALL interest in horses after I got the Honda...

My mom was seriously opposed....more so after my dad rode it a week after I got it and broke his scapula....

Eventually they both got dual sports (Dad a Kawasaki F350 Bighorn, Mom the Kawasaki F7 175) and we all started riding together....lottsa great memories!!

Mine was a 1970 Honda SL175. Never told my folks about it as I stored it at my friends house. Been riding ever since, lost track of how many bikes when the count got over 150. Finally told Mom, 43 years later.
