Yes, Thank You for the tutorial. I did make some changes that will make life easier. The page sequence is nice. Still no "data card setup"

The other setting you need to be aware of is "follow road" - this makes your track log follow a road .. not what you want if your track logs are to be used to represent what YOU found rather than what is already on your maps...
Get pdf of your manual and search for those terms in the pdf manual. Saves every one here typing out that bit of the manual again.

In fact if you do save it, a lot of information gets stripped out of the file being saved so it's better to just let it archive.

Yah, that was it 250senuf! You da Man. After the update to the 4.00 viola, there popped up the data card option. I did check the box to log tracks to data card.
Will this now automatically record the complete trip for a month as long as the gps is on? IE; there is no action on my part to save that days tracks before shutting it down for the night and disconnecting the power. I will unload the card when I get back as BigDog stated

As long as you have tracks turned on at the initial Tracks page you will get a .GPX file for each day you power the GPS on. Each one should be no more than 400kB. Even if you save your track midday and clear the track log you will still have that .GPX on the card with the whole day. Experiment/play with the GPS before you really need it.

Yes, not action Did you mean "Upload" after you "unload" it from ger bag? Don't if you will but you can any time you want, forever. You have to erase card, it will not overwrite, just stop recording when full.

BTW, I also downloaded a current manual which has info on the SD Cards. Mine didn't have any of the info regarding SD Cards, therefore much of the confusion
