Final Price question?
Just to be sure, 1 motorcycle, one way trip...Santiago Chile to Miami USA= $1400, no other payment of fee?
Any size motorcycle? Do I need to remove liquids from the motorcycle, like battery, oil, gas? Can I take it with me or I need to buy another top quality battery as soon I arrive Chile? Do you have any shipment from Chile to USA? I will need to come back home eventually ;-) Thanks, Quote:

Responses to your questions: 1. The size of the bike does not matter, except if it has a side car. 2. Just minimum gasoline in the tank and battery disconnected. Keys w/ the bike 3. Equipment and bags are allowed , properly tagged, tied and labeled. Including a packing list for Customs. 4. Battery stay, just disconnected 5. We can ship you back from Miami or Houston individually, crated. Anytime. It is not costly. For any other question , please PM me at samericaxplorer[at]gmail.com

I used Gaston's services shipping my XT250 from Galveston Texas to Cartagena Colombia just over a year ago. It was shipped down in a crate, however I just put it on a boat back to Galveston as a RoRo (roll on roll off). I breifly considered riding it back, but the 10 hour ride from Medellin to Cartagena reminded me that I need to buy at least a 650 before I do any long distance rides. No way in hell I'm riding a 250 all the way back to the states. As to Gaston's service, I have nothing but good things to say. For me the price was reasonable and well worth paying, considering the costs of riding down. Hell just getting from Panama to Colombia seems to cost almost $800 in and of itself. Of course, for some people the ride down is part of the experience. Me I just wanted to get my ass back to Colombia in the shortest amount of time possible. I did check into different shipping companies on my own before I went with Gaston's service, and every single one of them wanted to charge me a heck of a lot more than I ended up paying with Gaston. I think I posted about it at the time. I'm still considering riding down at some time in the future, but if a person wanted to ship a bike anywhere in South America, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gaston. In my experience he has been a stand up guy, honest, responsive and very helpful with the whole process. His prices seem very fair to me, especially after having contacted shipping brokers on my own. If anyone has any questions about my experiences using Gaston's shipping services feel free to ask here or via pm. |

Gaston: are you a shipper, or a freight forwarder?

Air shipping cargo are multimodal transported (ground) between main cities in the U.S. and Miami, then air shipped to main cities in L.America. Usually in the $500 range (inter US) plus the air shipping.
Miami to Latin America air shipping are the lowest in the U.S. market. It makes sense!.

Gaston, do you have any contacts in SA for selling my bike after a tour? I see that the guy, Alex is selling that service online. As in ship it down then tour, sell & fly home with money in my pocket ? FWIW, I'm going to sell it in the near future anyway which I'm experienced at doing in the USA but not SA!
I have sold to the port in FL but was a simple delivery to Jksv,FL after payment was made. Talking r.e., a $4-5k BMW bike
