Mitas E07 Tyre Recall

Here in Australia, we have recently received notification that Mitas are recalling all 2011 and 2012 production of 100/90-19 Dual Sport TL 57T and 110/80-19 Dual Sport TL 57T tyres, as they can, under certain conditions de-bead from the rim.

I'm keen to hear from riders who have been using these tyres and have had this happen to them, or have had the tyre replaced under the recall.

Any replies can be placed in this thread, or in a PM.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Mitas recall

I have to say we have not had any issues with this particular size of the E-07, However couple customers have told me they went to pull their bikes out of storage and found the front tire was flat. The tubeless bead of these two sizes of E-07 is obviously allowing sepage of air past the rim bead. I have to say, Mitas company was extremely quick to jump on the problem and inform us of the recall. They put into production imediately a new batch of replacement tires and sent them within weeks of the recall, via AIR frt. from CZ republic, I know for a fact this cost them thousands of dollars to expidite this air shipment. We have notified all our customers by mail and email of the recall and are now in the process of forwarding new replacement tires to all these customers. Mitas also forwarded us a very nice digital tire gauge to be sent with each replacement tire. .... Thank you MITAS Tire for stepping up to the plate and doing the right thing.
