I actually looked at your route, but modified it not to go through the College Grant and not bust a couple of gates. There are some fantastic routes up that way if you're gate crashing -- not that I'm familiar with any of them. A bunch of the eastern section does come from Dockingpilot's routes. I believe I gave credit for that somewhere. I still spent many hours in the mapping software and on the road.
Strangely enough, there are very few viable routes for a piece of territory so large.

Oh no worries there. Im not one of those who think route building is like curimg cancer. Lol . Enjoy and use and edit all you like I say.
And your right you would think those big woods would offer all kinds of options but they really dont, * i dont recall though any gates but my memory aint what it used to be! Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2

Still snow on the trails in southern VT, but most roads are clear (barring Class IV and extra shady corners)

I can see Burke Mountain from the top of the hill above my house. Driving back at 8:20 this evening, it was snowing hard, and there's plenty o' white stuff in the woods. It's time to start sacrificing virgins or something. South of Route 2, there is little snow, and then it picks up again, as Guymanbro noted. We're still a few weeks from good riding. The back roads are goopy and heavily rutted. If you have hairy ones, plenty of time, and nasty knobbies, they can be run, but it ain't gonna be much fun. Give it a few weeks at least. There is certainly snow and mud over ice on the northern PDR.

Hello All,
A buddy and I are planning a Big DS ride (KLR 650 and Tiger 800) loop ride from Central NH through Maine and back. The major land marks we intend to hit are Quoddy Head, a view of Mt Katahdin, and Boundary Pond in NH. So my key question is there any to get a view of Katahdin without violating the logging company rules? The route we laid out overlaps quite a bit with the NNEAT except for an approach to the south end of Baxter. Any advice is appreciated. Tom |

No bikes (even bicycles) in Baxter. There's a good view of Katadhin from I-95, of all places, but it's not exactly dual-sport. There are many parallel roads, and you can see the mountain from various places around Millinocket. The Golden Road is still sadly off-limits.

That is a bummer. But there will be plenty of ridding. Thanks for all your efforts on this route. We report back on the sections we end up riding.
