Many people are probably asking the same question. If you were to call the Beemer Shop you would get a quote for the conversion. For me, with labor, it was just over $1700, which is about half of what the Ohlin's shocks cost alone. One advantage I could see for going with the Ohlin's option is the stockers are removed and left complete. You could try to resell them to recoup some of the Ohlin's investment, or to put it back to stock if you ever wanted to sell the bike.

I did Alaska last summer... You won't need a gun while on your bike. We saw a few browns and lots of blacks... you'll blow right past them.

If you camp... just don't be smellin' like steak ..

Cool, glad to know... I'll be heading up in May, not sure how long I'll be staying, but for at least 3 weeks on the road... I'm between jobs right now (read: semi-retired until the money runs out...) so I may stay another whole month...

But...if you decide to CAMP at Teklanika River Campground at DENALI NATIONAL PARK...you'll get to...you'll have to...you're MANDATORILY OBLIGATED to... watch a 30-minute video about "Camping with Bears"...yeah there are 2,000 grizzlies at Denali.
(in all fairness..DNP is slightly larger than the State of Massachusetts).

I was told NOBODY has ever been killed by a Griz in DNP!

We were stopped on one of the visitor buses well within the park and a GRIZZLY jumped out from behind a bush onto the road and walked down the entire length of the bus. Driver never saw it until he jumped. Then...100 yards further down the road...2 hikers...yes we advised them about Mr. Griz and they decided to 'take the bus'.

Vaguely remember something about 100 yard equilateral triangle points

...STORE FOOD at one point

...COOK at one point.

NEVER have all 3 at the same point.

OK...so I guess that I was paying a little attention.

Thanks for the information, and I had previously read about the separation required to prevent issues, so that shouldn't be much of an issue... as for carrying a gun on my bike, I don't even own one, nor am I in the market for one...

I'm itch'n to go now, but I know it is too cold yet up there...
