Very nice route, especially some of the twisties near Holy Hill. Cool mix of lake country and scenic highroads. CJ Racer and I completed all loops north of Eagle on January 7th. Ran out of light for the last loop into Lake Geneva.

Wifey went on first moto trip....
We did about 60% of this route with a connection to Bryan's route around Lake Winnebego for Day 1.
We stopped at the Buell Factory for a tour and the Homecoming day on Friday and also did the Wisconsin Auto Museum in Hartford to end Day 1. http://wisconsinautomuseum.com/ Here is the note I sent to Bryan: We rode most of the track for SE WI Lakes tour and found it FANTASTIC. This was Camille's first moto trip and she can't wait to go again. We ended around Holy Hill for day one and then I went North to link into your Central tour around Lake Winnebego. We didn't get that far North, but stopped for Lunch around Keewaskum and then headed back into Hartford to the Auto Museum, which we found very cool. Many old Kissel's, Nash's and about 98 others-around 100 cars. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone in the Northern IL/Southern WI area, and any of the BMWMOA visitors to West Bend. You will never be more than 60-70 miles from the rally site, but will get about 200+ miles in for the day. Great job Bryan and thanks for all you do for the Central community... Mitch the LIP |

Ne Version of the GPS with a Route
Completed a new version of the .gpx that contains a route. Trimmed the track segments to less than 250 to accommodate more units.

Files Available for Download Again
These tracks are now available again for download. Many thanks to fellow ADVer deputyjones who offered some server space.
Go to http://dsam-mi.org/GPS_Files/ and you will see a directory of folders that contain the files. You should be able to choose the proper directory without much trouble. The individual files will have names that are the same as or similar to the file names listed when the files were hosted on ADV. The files are listed as .zip files. If you left click/open the file, you will open it in your computer's temporary internet directory. Depending on how you have your computer set up, clicking on the .gpx will open the file with Mapsource so you can look at it. Remember, it is in your temporary internet files. To save the file in one of your neatly filed directories, "left click/save" or "right click/save target as" and put it where you want to keep it. Some of the files have an associated spreadsheet file with points of interest (Black Hills, Pony Express, etc). Same procedures apply. Happy to have quick and easy access to these files again. |
