Interesting stuff! The apocalyptic bike should have blades on the hubs for zombie road slashing. Doesn't Ducati make a diesel now?

Oh they do: $13795, 2012 Ducati Monster Diesel, based on Monster 1100 EVO

Nice, ain't she?
more info:http://blog.motorcycle.com/2012/03/1...ster-1100-evo/

Wouldn't want one for an EOW scenario, though.

Hey, why not an Ural Diesel?
Like this one:

Meet these at: http://www.dieselbike.net/ural/ural.htm
Now we're back on track. Even when the track ain't there no more

Sweet Ducati but you do realize it doesn't run a diesel fuel?
I forgot about the Ural diesel-that's not a bad choice considering you can get the two-wheel-drive sidecar version. I once read about one that could go through an entire time-zone between fill-ups!

How bout this one with the machine gun mounted in the sidecar--now we're talking!

This Duc don't run on diesel... There will more likely be zombies before any Ducati runs on diesel. This monster is a special model, partly designed by the Diesel clothing company founder.

Appreciate the clarification, kyns!

We await the "Old Navy," and the "Dockers" model Ducati!

Why run when you can get a Permit! Unfortunately I'm only good for Wisconsin.

I don't think there will be any laws at that point.

You're good...

My Alpina trials bike. I figure with all the dead bodies & carnage it will be like one big trials section.

A good Jumping Mule would beat any bike where I would be heading.

A diesel bike would be nice but hard to lay hands on. I wouldn't expect any petroleum-powered vehicles to be much use after a complete breakdown of society. Like mentioned above, any remaining fuel would be just about useless within a year, and even if you did get hold of a bunch of fuel stabilizer, how much fuel are you really going to have? I'd just use the motorized vehicles to get as far away from population centers as I could and then probably just ditch them.

You can actually cover a lot of ground on foot if you try, and you can get over a lot of terrain that no vehicle could ever hope to tackle. Leave most of your stuff behind, pack light, and hoof it into the woods. I feel like having and using a vehicle would just make you more of a target than anything else.

Learn from Hollywood:
You'll need all the fuel you can amass to make those explosions look cool.

And save the diesel for transportation. You could make your own bio-diesel, indefinetely, but when? You are busy saving the world a day at a time?

Solution: get yourself a work detail pronto, delegate man.
No kidding, let them earn your serving and protecting.

And get one with an original machine-gun mount.

Don't worry about corpses lying about. Enough critters to deal with those.
Besides you have 2WD. Splash along.

I salute you Knights Of The Roaring Days
with one more, while the fuel is still plenty
