Hi,
Inmates, forgive me if this is a repeat question but many searches rendered zilcho! is there an app that will upload my location as I progress, plus store my tracks, for web users to watch me on a trip? I found Glympse works will for real time, but if a user clicks the link after my ride it says "info no longer available" and they can't tell if i made it there or where TF I am! Thanks in advance!

I use Latitude, which is built into Google maps. I can go back to any point and view a history of where I was. It works for me because I often get someone asking my what road was it that we were on a couple of weeks ago. I'm able to look it up after the fact without giving it a thought when riding.
It is fine for my wife to be able to estimate where I am, should something happen. BUT, it would be hard to share the location in real time. Google makes a point of not sharing too much with other people, which is usually a good thing. AND, since it runs 100% of the time, if you have the phone screen off, the location is cell tower based, so it can be pretty far off. You may want to try EveryTrail. I'm not sure if it lets you share in real time though. |

try www.bubblergps.com
though it is in alpha testing right now...i can tell you works just like spot & spotwalla with or without a internet connection or spot device. Very cool stuff. can't say much more, but wait it will be worth it. |

Hey fellow inmates. I just found this thread. The previous poster is correct, we do have a new android app coming out that we are calling Bubbler GPS. The data is all viewed directly in http://SpotWalla.com. Bubbler GPS should be available in Google Play by the end of March this year (2013). We have had a pilot group using the app for a little over a month and providing feedback and guidance. Feedback has been quite positive so far.
It has similar functionality to Latitude, but with a whole lot more. We have a facebook page, that is open to the public, if you would like to stay up to date with release announcements and app information. We are pretty excited about it, and are glad to hear there is interest from others who use Latitude, like I did, but found it lacking. It's built by riders, for riders. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bubble...52704604887532 See you on the road. -GrimeTime GrimeTime screwed with this post 03-04-2013 at 06:41 PM |

Released
I wanted to let you know that Bubbler GPS has been released in Google Play, since some had asked to keep updated.
There are 2 versions, Lite and Pro. The differences at the moment are: Lite is limited to holding 5 positions between uploads, Pro can hold 1500. Pro has a camera and can put pictures in your SpotWalla.com map. Lite is limited to a point every 15 minutes, Pro can go as low as 5 minute intervals. More features to come. Thanks for the interest. You can keep up with information relating to the app on the Facebook page or website in my signature below. Lite: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...s.bubbler.lite Pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ps.bubbler.pro |
