Thanks, and I am always open for a NY Slash2 ride... But we aren't exactly close to each other when you consider our transportation!

Lucky you - mine is all dressed up and ready to go (and get picked up from the shop) - except we are expecting 6 more inches of snow here.....

My 1960 R50
Back in 1960 I bought a new Dover white R50, #561611 and had the bike for 30 years. Put 189,000 miles on her. Like a damn fool I let some guy talk me out of it. I tried to go through Missouri vehicle registration but they won't give out that information due to a privacy policy. I called the guy I sold it to and he didn't remember buying it. He was having dementia problems.
I want it back regardless of the condition. Last seen in St. Louis, Missouri. The bike had a wide saddle, 6.5 gal tank, Glaser Police full fairing, Craven Dolomite bags and rack, Harro elephant tank bag. Eventually I bought 1964 Dover white R60/2 but I still want my old bike back. Please, keep your eyes open if you see it. Bob Childers bobthewoodcarver@frontier.com |

VTbeemer, Carfax? I never thought about Carfax. If it works I owe you a beer. I'll give it a try tonight.

Nice update.
I,ve been taking mine out for short tune up rides - the weather has been terrible here. Looks like that is about to change.... |

I know you guys have seen this before but here it is again. I used a /2 engine, transmission and wheels to build this bike. I'm now working on a sidecar. No original parts were trashed to build this bike. I still have the original frame (it was chopped before I got it). Anything that doesn't look like a BMW /2, I made. My most useful tools were a hammer and a file.
![]() I wrote a short story about the build, if your interested, it's at http://pokiespages.com/bmwflat.htm |
