I have one very similar to the one shown on ebay.

i never use it because its basketball sized when packed.

I have one too and it's more football sized than basketball to be honest.

Not "the size of a grapefruit" but I can easily live with the size difference and 100$ more in my pocket.


I rarely use it though...but not because of it's size, just because I don't really have a need for it.

For touring, I bought a waterproof backpack cover to cover the seat to "protect" it against morning dew and that's it.

I have lots of thin polyester and nylon, from making hammocks, some in camo patterns even

I thought about making a small light weight cover a couple of years back, in a sedate color/pattern, but never did.
it would be tennis ball size, and could be made mostly water proof.
