Scott's Performance, a great company.
Some times companies step up in ways you never expect.
My story starts at the end of May last year. I purchased a Scott's steering stabilizer from an inmate here on ADV. He shipped me the item which I was told was in good shape and worked perfectly. I had not planned on buying one but jumped on one I thought was a good deal at $250 with a full mounting kit which didn't match any of my bikes but I figured I could sell the mount and use the money toward what I needed. When the unit arrived it was not in the best shape so i figured I would send it off to Scott's to be serviced and it would be fine. I put it on the work bench and around three months later I packed it up in a box and shipped it to Scott's. I got confirmation it arrived and also was told they were quite backed up and it would be some time before they could get to it. I was in no hurry so told them no rush. After some time I got a call from Steve at Scott's who has worked there for over 25 years. He explained to me that the unit I had was made in the early 90's in Sweden. It had had a rough life and had been serviced before but not by them as the O'rings and seals were not theirs. The shell was not in good shape and the main mechanical parts were shot. The company does not interchange parts from the older Sweden made models to the American made ones and he felt that even if he could find some parts the unit would not be 100%. My options were $130 and he could fix it as good as he could or buy another unit which he offered a blemish unit at quite a discounted price. I explained to him I bought the unit under the understanding it was in good shape and I would contact the seller to see if he would step up and stand by the product and let him know... I contact the seller and he was less than willing to help and felt that I bought it as is and tuff if it wasn't what he said. I chalked it up to my first bad experience on ADV in the flea market and decided I would have to live with my bad purchase and let it be a paper weight. Three days later I get a call from Steve at Scott's and he explains he felt bad that I got taken and he spent some time searching the old boxes at Scott's for a new Swedish shell and parts to build me a new unit. I was stunned... he not only went out of his way to help me but then donated most of his time and the parts to send me a unit as good as new all for $80 Here is what I got in the mail from Scott's ![]() Opening the box ![]() After removal of first foam layer ![]() After removal of second foam layer ![]() New unit ![]() Old crapped out unit ![]() I want to extend my thanks and tip my hat to the Scott's company and Steve who helped me out of what was a bad experince and situation. This is way beyond any of my expectations and I will be supporting this company when ever I can. Cheers |

i am local to Scott's and buy most of my moto gear/parts/etc from them. they are always GREAT!!!
i have a KTM and they can order almost anything any of the KTM online parts distributors have (a lot of those distributors actually order from KTM at the time of your order). they have everything you'll need. tires. gas cans. fluids. gear. and everything inbetween. and they're nice dudes. and super knowledgeable. and i also have a Scott's Stabilizer. and it's a great piece of equipment that i'm really happy that i have on my bike.

You can PM one of the mods.
DantesDame seems to be the one manning the ship in the West section these days.

if you contact a mod about moving the thread, also ask to change the title to "Scott's Performance a great company" to not mix up with Scott's goggles.

Thumbs up for Scott's
It's great to hear the service you received from Scott's. I will definitely use them in the future.

I called them up for a somewhat custom application and they sorted out what I needed within 5 minutes of me telling them what I was after. No additional cost for mixing/matching parts either and they shipped it the same day

there should be a thread for this very thing. it's a bummer when you get burned on ADV. leave that up to eBay.

Same here. Their damper is top notch. Ordered a second tower kit so I could run it on the Berg. Bought the wrong one. Reorder the low mount as I was leaving on a ride soon. 6 months later I find the high mount. They kindly excepted it back without a restocking fee and credited that amount for a shark fin. Which, btw, is a billet beauty! Good company, great product!

When I raced enduro's in D37 Scotts did my suspension and man what a difference. I had several things done by them from recalibration to repair of my forks when I ate shit in a rock garden. I have nothing but the highest Praise for Scotts.
