My new R100/7 project bike

Here's a picture of my new barn find. Found it in a barn half hour away. It's gonna be fun!

Is that it? I mean all of it? You are missing a couple of parts.

I got it pretty much complete but in pieces. It came with a S fairing which is a plus. I'm told it hasn't run in about ten years. Hope to be riding it this spring. I'll post some pics while in progress.

Got it down to the frame. Off to do some sand blasting. Started wet sanding some body panels. Got a big list of parts ordered. 2HE

Got the frame back from powder coat. Got the motor and tranny back in. Making good progress. Should have it back up on wheels in no time at all.

Mufflers

The chrome on the exhaust system was a bit rough. I blasted it and my powdercoater shot it in high temp satin black. He's done a few other systems for me in the past and they held up good. I'm blacking out the rest of the bike so this fit right in. 2HE

That is going to be a nice custom Airhead. Is that a custom starter motor cover I see?? Very trick!

Got some fresh tires mounted on some fresh powdercoated wheels. Installed a new u-joint in the driveshaft. Installed new steering head bearings, swing arm bearings, wheel bearings, new fork seals and a fresh pair of rear shocks. Should ride like a new bike once I get things dialed in this spring. Started to fab up some foam for the solo seat. Found a Corbin two up seat on ebay and got the seat latches tweaked to fit this morning. Did some welding on the gas tank and blocked it out with the rest of the body panels. Can't wait to get them back from my paint guy. Meanwhile I installed a Euro moto electric 450 watt charging system and electronic ignition. I hung the remote fuel tank on it and it lit right up. I'll wait till the weather warms up to dial in the carbs. I should pickup a small fuse block and install some aux lights and a powerlet outlet or two. Just ordered a tinted shield for the S fairing. I modded the battery box to fit two smaller YB14LA2 batterys instead of the big brick battery. With the new starter it spins like mad. 2HE

Here's one more shot. Note the dual battery box, modified sidestand, regulator/rectifier location, K&N filters with prefilters. I blacked out the starter cover, front cover and valve covers.

project bike update

Here's a new photo. Just waiting for winter for run out of steam. We got two more inches of snow this morning. I've had my GS out but I hate to run a fresh bike in this. 2HE
