When this happened to me it was the connector on the side of the ABS pump that came loose. It has a clamping lever that needs to be pushed fully in or the connector can vibrate loose. There is also a connector under the headlight that you can get to and check without taking anything off the bike. Follow the cable up from the ABS sensor and you will find the connector hiding just inside the protective sheath on the loom. Give the sensor cable a wiggle all along it's length to make sure there are no breaks. Also check the fuse connection is crud free and making good contact. The speedo gets it's signal from the front ABS sensor so it should be a bad connection somewhere between the front sensor and ABS unit if it's knocking them both out.

Good luck...

You've probably rubbed the sensor cable to the point where it's broken just above the bottom triple clamp. Exact same symptoms as some of us have had.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback, have checked the things, and all seems fine, will get a front abs sensor. One strange thing though, when it does not work, and I apply rear or front brakes, it comes on again?

That's odd...

Front or rear brakes means its probably not brake specific. Hmm...

Sounds like a short in the system check your grounds and all connectors first that's the easy part, it goes down hill from there in the search for solutions

Had the same problem. Mine was the ABS switch on the dash was going out and then finally failed. Chased wires and connections for weeks before another inmate pointed me to the switch itself.
