Removing trye weld from rear rim??

Awhile ago I got a bad flat trye while returning home from an extended trip. Instead of trying to repair the trye on the side of the road in 36c temps

I used a can of Trye weld which I always carry ( a pressurised foam in a can which seals the leak and inflates trye!).

This fixed the leak and I was able to ride the 800 kms home over 2 days and only put a bit of air in the trye the next morning! Its great stuff and did the trick but alot of foam leaked out on to the rim and created a sticky mess

. Does anyone know how to clean this stuff off without scracthing the rim?? Its on there pretty good and looks like it might need scouring to get off??

I think you mean "tyre" not "trye" but your peristence is admirable

Try acetone, this is the cleanup for other types of expanding foam sold in cans which is also horribly sticky. Test in an inconpicious area first to make sure it doesn't remove the paint.

You put that tire foam in a tubed tire and it worked??
