Nice introduction to NBCSports, delayed 10 min due to Bball and TIVO missed the last 10 minutes. Better get used to it and extend TIVO record about an hour.

RIP Ginny, God Bless the Caregiver, we will never know just how much she meant to Frank.

Yeah, pretty thin. This is why I usually don't watch these kinds of shows. They're really superficial. The best insights came from Will Buxton talking about Lewis Hamilton's move, and David Hobbs assessing Mark Webber.

As you'd expect from NBC, the production value is super high, gorgeous set. I wish the thoughtfulness of the content matched the look of the show.

Looking at the TV programming here in the US, looks like P1 and P2 are being played on Thursday night (Pacific time). P1 starts at 9:00 PM, and p2 follows immediately after. I don't see P3 on the schedule, but Qualifying is on at 11:00 PM on Friday. Pre-race is at 10:30 PM on saturday, followed by the race. So, looking like NBC intends on doing a proper job of it.

Nothing new under the sun...

The blow wing thing going through F1 right now? In Shiny Wings there's an aviation thread with this aircraft, designed in the 1920's. Blow wing is one of its features.

Quote:
Emsco B-8 [X55W] (Walter Boyne coll)

B-8 Flying Wing 1930 = 2pOlwM; 165hp Continental A-70 (later 300hp P&W Wasp Jr); span: 60'0" length: 36'0" v (est): 145/125/x; ff 4/17/30 (p: C Rocheville). Charles Rocheville. "Blown wing" had air ducted from the engine and fed through outlets over the surface. Despite its name, this experimental had a twin-boom empennage, and was designed for endurance of 70 flying hoursRocheville had plans brewing for a Japan-US flight. POP: 1 prototype [X55W]. Production cancelled by lack of funds, scrapped Nov 1930.

Even though this is not a F1 site I find the best tech info here over all the EUR sites I lurk at.

Thanks for That

That vid says 6 jumbo jets of gear from Europe. What percentage of an F1 team's budget is devoted to travel and transportation?

Whatever Bernie is paying. Just like motogp, I believe travel is all subsidized by the organizing body

Anyone interested in a F1 Pool?

Pick the top 6 qualifiers for 1-6 points and the top 6 finishers for the same points the drivers get. Any fines or penalties, unless they occured in the race, wouldn't count to keep it simple. Just how they really finished.

Maybe a bonus 10 points for fastest lap pick?

We have 19 races.

Any interest?
