Ride for Research 2013- Wabeno WI

OK we are 2 months into the new year I gotta start a thread on this. June 8/9 - Wabeno WI, Ride for Research- presented by the WI Dual Sport Riders. Come, ride, eat, raise money for brest and colon cancer research, buy lot of raffle tickets from the pretty co-ed's, help us surpass the $100,000. dollar mark donated... in a nut shell,

SAVE THE BOOBS CURE THE ASSHOLES- AND DO IT ON YOUR DUAL SPORT BIKE.

go to www.widualsportriders.org for more info.. now that I made a like I suppose I should check that we have the registration up and open.

Hope to see a lot of you there in Wonderful Wabeno WI, Dual Sport Capitol of the WORLD! lj

John.....I am interested in possibly attending.

Can you tell me a bit about the trail conditions? Is it super tight single track, forest roads, gravel roads, a mix of all?

If you've been to the Central Rally, how would it compare to the Northern Highlands route that Cannon put together?

I have a KTM 640 Adventure, and manage to stay upright most of the time. The only thing my bike (or more appropriately, my skill level) is NOT suited for is super tight, knuckle busting single track.

Thanks!

Bob, you'll be fine. The route itself it similar to the Northern Highlands. A bit more gravel.

The only difficult/single track stuff is sectioned off into "Hero Sections" and are optional. You can bypass them if you want but there is nothing you couldn't navigate on your bike. No Porterfield like trails. The missus may have some trouble in the heros, but the rest of the route is doable for a big burly guy like yourself.

hey Bob, lobster is pretty much dead on, I'm guessing being I havent made it over to hang with the cool kids at a CADVR run yet! we have had folks on 800's, 990's and 1200's ride the main route with little or no issue.

but if you show up this could be a first,,, a UPer coming south to ride dirt bike. hope you can make it down.

Red, orange, who cares? It's all KTM now anyway.

Is it really KTM or Pierer Industries (CEO and controlling shareholder of KTM?)

My gut says he is after the 2 stroke techology (direct injection, EPA compliant?, street legal).

The question is, how is he going to incorporate it into KTM or does he have other plans?
