Looks like I'm out on this one guys, sorry.
Leaving for the coast on July 30th. Would have to be home about a week before that by say the 23rd. The other problem for me right now is funding. Retired from the FD in December and have only received 50% pay for the past 3 months. The system is making it difficult to get things straightened out. I expected this and am not eating catfood (yet) but living off savings is a bit scary so taking long trips becomes a bit of a luxury. Apologies for the personal stuff but I thought I owe you an explanation. I will certainly miss seeing everyone again. |

Hello everyone, had a strange thing happen the other day and need some help. Went to hit the magic button the other day and nothing so I hit it again and "magic" it started but the starter won't disengage even with the key off so I disconnected the battery and took the switch apart and cleaned it with come contact cleaner spray, put it all back together and when I was reconnecting the battery it tried to start itsself again even with the key off. I'm now thinking that its the starter solonoid . Any ideas????
Jonathan, a few months ago I remember seeing a thread that you started asking if there was any interest in any Excel 18" 32 hole wheels. What ever became of this? I see your site doesn't list them Did I miss out or is it still in the works, just wondering I can't find any here in Thailand. Thanks for any input of words of wisdom Keith |

Some BMWs and some cars have that problem. It seems when the voltage in the battery gets low the cranking current goes up (counter intuitive) and sticks the points in the starter relay/solenoid.

Do you have an RD03 or are you modifying a Transalp?

The Africa Twin thread
If you are lucky, you might still get it some day. I had one package showing up 11 weeks after mailing. It had evidence of being around the world incl. postal markings from Australia.
