I'm going to have to take pictures of my other smokers, but this ones a runner. I'm 23, and I also have a 1979 RM125 and a 1976 GT550 that I am restoring. Just picked up this 1971 TS185 a few weeks ago. It ran when my brother and I got it, but poorly. I pulled the carb to rebuild it, but it was un-fixable. The previous owner said it was taken to a shop to have the carb tuned by a pro, LOL.
The needle jet had no shape, it was just straight like a peice of steel just put in there, the slide was tight as fuck, and had been forced in there incorrecty, it had a quarter jamed in there to hold the cable, and the adjustment screws were cranked in as tight as possible, the idle included. I put the settings back to stock and it ran like garbage, rich as hell. After all of those problems we said fuck it, and ordered a chinesse carb for her. Bolted it on, and it started first kick. Fucking right! My brother and I took her for a ride yesturday and it worked great, we rode for an hour or so untill the jacked up chain adjusters let the chain get real loose. Pretty good for $300 I think.![]() It apears to have later model rims on it. and it does have a side cover. |

After I rebuild the 250 motor, I'm going to drop it in a 2000 KX250 frame. It'll be cool, I promise.

Hi all. Long time lurker first time poster here. Some of you may know me from the kaw boards. There sure are some nice bikes in all those pages. Anyways I thought I'd say 'hey' and show my bikes.
75 Kaw S3A, rebuilt engine, ported, stage 2 reeds, Denco repops, ram air induction. I dont know how much hp its got but it isnt stock by any means. Ive had this bike for 25 years. ![]() 77 CT125. The 'farm bike' from what Ive seen about it. Only imported one year to the US. Tank is incorrect, but as far as I can tell, 95% is there and in great shape. Only has 3k on it. Runs like a swiss watch. Thinking of selling this little critter though. It sits alot. ![]() 71 RT1B. Needs a repaint and new 'undented' tank. Threw a rod in it last fall so it's on the slate for a rebuilt crank. |
