Yes I think you are right, I have also seen a yz front end used.
The current plan (due to time and budget) Xr 600 forks in the std triple clamps a bitchin fork brace and a brembo six pot single caliper ,its actually all been on a strom before and works quite well apparently , but the flex has been noted
