Well, I just did the Blacksburg Classic 10 miler yesterday. Holy cow I'm outta shape. That was the first ten miler since fall 2010. I'm signed up to run the Ukrop in Richmond but need to find something to do in March. Any easterners (remote to VA and the adjacent states) have any suggestions? I want to keep it around 10 miles again. Maybe up to a half.

Put in 3 hours 45 minutes running this past weekend. Trying to really start pushing the miles/time up each weekend. The San Juan Solstice 50M is about 3.5 months away, man I better get in shape.

Check out the WVMTR site. West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners. They have races of different miles and some fun training runs. There is a 14 mile trainer and a 21 mile training run coming up in the Dolly Sods on April 6th!

Yeah, you guys are insane. I'm thinking about another 10 miler at the end of this month. I think a marathon is the longest I'll go in my lifetime, lol.

I'm about where I was a month ago. Having what seems like some IT band issues with my right knee, a problem I had once about 5 years ago, but not since. Went out to do 4-5 hours this past Sunday and ended up doing just over 3 hours and walking the last 45 minutes.

I am not where I should be getting ready for the SJS50 in mid-June.

Back to rolling on the pain log and stretching more.

I got in 38 miles on the road this past week. 4 more weeks until I join 25,000 runners for a 25K.

My brother and I cancelled out on the San Juan Solstice 50M run back in June, neither of us were anywhere near ready. We rescheduled for the Flagstaff 50k coming up this Saturday.

http://www.aravaiparunning.com/flagstaff/

For various reasons I'm not ready for this one now. Worked up to runs around 3-4 hours (probably a bit less than half the 50k distance) each weekend for the past ~1.5 months, and that's it, stalled out at that level. I usually like to get in a couple of at least 6 hour runs the two weeks before a 50k.

I'm pretty sure I'll finish, just because I'm so stupidly stubborn. But, I think I'm going to suffer. A lot.

Good luck, sounds like fun and challenging. Please let us know how it goes.

Well, at least I finished, but slow, 10 hours 22 minutes. Did a fair bit of walking, more than normal. It was a tough course, some big climbs and really steep and rocky. I'll call it a win to have crossed the finish line on this one, and I'll be better trained next time!

I'll run the next one with you. How about late January or early February for another 50K? Want to train with me???

Finished a 50K yesterday:

http://www.badgerlandstriders.org/ho...rail50M50K.htm

This was my second year. Last year the weather was terrible. It rained and it was windy the whole time. Finished in 7h:32m.

This year, weather was PERFECT! 44 at the start, 60 for a high, and I missed my PR by 12 minutes

Oh well, still a good run.
