I remember that place but never new what it was called. I rode up there a few times but that was over 20 years ago. I remember seeing an old school bus rotting away in the bushes. I bet it was fun getting that thing up there.

So the bugs take August/September off - good to know for planning...

FWIW, I've had really good interactions with David Way so far, and I look forward to finding out what kind of time frame he has in mind for some more trails opening up.
good idea! suggest central sounders turn out a bit for this to represent.

I'm going up on the next date and I am bringing both my DR-449 and my DRZ250 and hope to provide some feedback on the type of trail they may be trying to make. Hopefully I will be able to ride both and provide good feedback.

from what I have read yes. until they finish. I think they are looking for feedback on how they did, which from what I have also read is not good.

Trailbuilding

I ran into a crew while riding at Walker on monday that told me they work full time (6 GUYS) at walker and Reiter doing maintainace on trails and building the new ones..
I was told they had to put in a hard bed base to control runoff from the trail..when he got done telling me it sounded more like a gravel sidewalk..
what i did find online wasnt supprising..
-3 yrs. Gov work.
-countless meetings
-1000 feet ( yes feet ) of jeep / 4x 4 trail
-1.5 miles of gravel sidewalk
**sounds like its really planned to turn over to hikers and bikers and be turn-key ready for them..

**side note** At Walker on monday I found a freshly totaled subaru wagon with current plates way up on the mainline past where Pats trail joins in and splits off..
If your neighbor is missing a white wagon..
looks like some kids?
were up to no good im thinkin'...

I think that is the point of new rieter, to frustrate and drive out motorized users by having less trail miles and trails that arent that great. At least that is the message DNR has been sending. "Oh, you want naturual dirt trails? Well how about 3 feet of gravel instead?"

This will be attributed to scofflaw ORVers. We'll probably see this pic in the next "ORVABUSE.wtf " brochure.

Hopefully some 4x4 volunteers will drag it out of there.

Imagine the horror when a greenie finds out their Subaru became a "thrillcraft".

Howdy All,

From the photos I have seen of the new "trails" and the descriptions posted of them there is little doubt in my mind that the whole thing is a sham.

Anyone who enjoys riding real trails will quickly get BORED riding these hard packed crushed rock freeways but as others have noted they will make excellent low maintenance hiking paths.

When its brought up how much money per mile its costing to build these log curb lined "off road motorcycle trails" the greenies will start to scream and this bit of foolishness will come to a quick end, leaving a few feet or maybe a couple of miles of trails no off road motorcyclist will want to use and another area will be shut down to motorized use which is the end result this scam is geared toward.
